Biography
Lisa Cherry is a Hamilton, Ontario area artist specializing in portraiture. She has painted for over twenty years, working mainly with oil paint. Born and raised in London, Ontario, she developed an interest in the arts at an early age; focusing mainly on cartooning before discovering her love of painting. While in London, she attended the well respected Bealart program at H.B. Beal Secondary School for two years. In 2002, she earned her Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) at York University in Toronto, Ontario.
While specializing mainly in painting, she has also trained in the areas of drawing, photography and sculpture. Her inspiration lies in portrait painting of the 1920s-1940s and in the architecture, fashion and designs of the Art Deco period.
